Land Information Centre

The Land Information Centre is on Level 10, 570 Bourke Street, Melbourne and is open from 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Phone: (+61 3) 8636 2831. The centre provides information and services related to conveyancing, surveying, planning and land development. It is supported by Department of Sustainability and Environment regional offices located in Ballarat and Bendigo. Aerial photography is only available from the Laverton office. You can search for titles and the following plans and indexes at the Land Information Centre: historical plan collections yearly field notes Torrens and Crown survey information index plans parish and township record plans alpine resort areas national park plans coastal protection reserves legislative plans gas pipelines Mornington Peninsula map base Forest Commission of Victoria surveys certificates of adjustments Land Channel for the Survey Mark Enquiry Service (SMES), Land and Survey Spatial Information map property certificates and other land-related datasets. You will need to know basic details to start your search, such as the street address or the volume and folio of the property. Volume and folios are unique identifiers used in the numbering system that identifies individual land titles relating to freehold land, Crown grants and Crown leases.

Titles and property certificates provide information about land and are most commonly used for conveyancing or other research purposes.

Available certificates include Register Search Statements (titles), Copies of Plan, VicRoads, Flood Level and Special Meter Reading.

To order titles and property certificates you need a property identifier such as a Street Address, Title Volume/Folio number, Lot/Plan number, Council Property number, Crown Allotment number or a Standard Parcel Identifier.
